Terms of Use

Atlas publishes reference calculations and written explanations of the methods behind them. Calculations run in your browser from signed calculation packs. Access to the published material is free, requires no account, and is offered as it stands.

We may add, change, withdraw or re-publish any part of the site at any time, and we do not commit to any level of availability. Nothing here is a service you have contracted for.

Atlas is a reference tool, not a professional service. Nothing published here is engineering advice, financial advice, legal advice, tax advice or any other regulated professional advice, and using this site creates no professional relationship of any kind between you and us.

A figure produced here is the output of a stated method applied to the values you supplied. Whether that method is the right one for your situation, whether your inputs are correct, and whether the result satisfies the code, standard, contract or regulator that governs your work are questions this site cannot answer and does not attempt to.

Do not rely on a result from this site as the sole basis for a decision that carries safety, structural, financial, legal or regulatory consequence. Such decisions must be reviewed and accepted by a person qualified and, where required, licensed to make them, against the governing standard and the authority having jurisdiction. Standards are revised, jurisdictions differ, and a published method may not be the one that applies to you.

Where the site refuses to return a value, that refusal carries the same weight as an answer: it means the conditions for a defensible result were not met, and it must not be worked around by substituting a number from elsewhere and treating it as though it came from here.

You may read, search, print and quote from this site, and use its results within your own work subject to section 2. You may not:

• use the site unlawfully, or in a way that infringes anyone's rights;
• interfere with the site's operation, or place automated load on it that degrades service for other readers;
• circumvent, disable or tamper with the signature verification a calculation pack or engine is subject to, or present material as verified by us when it has not been;
• republish the published corpus, or a substantial part of it, as a competing collection, whether by scraping, bulk extraction or automated derivation;
• represent yourself as us, or represent a result as certified, approved or warranted by us beyond what is stated on the page it came from.

Ordinary quotation of a passage or a figure, with attribution and a link to the page it came from, is welcome and is not caught by the restriction above.

The site's text, design, structure, marks and software are owned by CoreVecta LLC or licensed to it, and are protected by copyright and other rights. Nothing on this page transfers any of those rights to you.

Standards, codes, published tables and other third-party sources referred to or relied on here remain the property of their respective owners. Where a method derives from such a source, the source is named on the page so that you can go to it; naming it is not a licence to it, and it is not a claim that its owner endorses this site.

If you believe material published here infringes your rights, write to support@corevecta.com identifying the page and the right concerned, and it will be reviewed.

Pages may link to sites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, their accuracy or their privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement.

Atlas may in future carry advertising or sponsorship. Any paid placement will be disclosed as such, will sit outside every calculator input and result, and will never influence what a calculation returns, what a page recommends or how capabilities are ordered. How that works, and what it means for your data, is set out in the privacy policy.

The site and everything published on it are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, that any published method suits your situation, or that any result is accurate or complete for your purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or for any loss of profit, revenue, data, goodwill, or cost of substitute services, arising out of or in connection with your use of this site or your reliance on anything published here.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, in which case the exclusions above apply only so far as that jurisdiction permits, and your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.

We may revise these terms. The effective date at the top changes when we do, and continued use of the site after a revision means you accept the revised terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Where you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection law in your place of residence, nor of the right to bring proceedings there where that law gives you one.
